Windmill generators
posted by: ZeroPollution on: Thursday June 12, 2008 at 00:55AM
I am not sure if I can post it here but my interest related to the site general agenda.
I'd like to build a windmill generator and was wondering if anyone has any background on electrical part of the design.

What I mean - I could build very efficient rotor with variable pitch etc. It would automatically and efficiently work from very low up to 150 MpH wind.
But I know nothing about the generators, how they work and what's required as far as RPMs for them to function properly.
Also I need some help in finding out what has to be done to hook-up wires to the electrical grid so produced electricity will spin the meeter the other way (when electricity produced).

Anybody here to help?
Thanks!
